Over the years Barbara has added to her voluntary work by joining several other organisations within the village and has helped to set up 3 new groups in the village. One of these groups is closely associated with the Police and Communities Together (PACT) Initiative, and another is the Lune Valley Amateur Boxing Club which is a joint venture between the Police, the Parish Church and Lancashire Clubs for Young People. In addition to this, Barbara is also involved with a regional organisation, Lancashire Association for Village and Community Halls (LAVCH) who offer help to any village hall or community association within Lancashire. Because of this she also works closely with Community Futures, Community Matters and several other organisations including her local CVS.If Barbara gets any spare time she likes nothing better than to read a good mystery book or to spend time with her young grandchildren. |
