Governance Doctor FAQ
Many volunteers, trustees and development workers find charity law and the responsibilities of trustees confusing, complicated and, in a lot of cases, daunting. Getting help and advice can be both costly and time-consuming. Recognising these two elements The Governance Doctor has been created. The Governance Doctor is a specialist service offered through Community Futures to enable any group, development worker or statutory body to be able to receive quick and reliable advice pertinent to the group in question, thereby enhancing personal levels of understanding whilst at the same time increasing the capacity and sustainability of the group. Community Information, Training and Advice Service (C.I.T.A.S) is a department of Community Futures, the Rural Community Council of Lancashire. The CITAS Team are highly motivated individuals striving for a consistent approach to governance so as to ensure long term sustainability of all groups in England and Wales. With over 30 years of governance experience under their belts they are able to answer questions quickly and provide clarity for moving forward. To achieve the above C.I.T.A.S promotes and develops community activity in Lancashire and beyond so as to:- · ensure healthy and balanced communities through supporting parish councils, charities, voluntary groups and community organisations · ensure long-term sustainability and increased capacity to manage groups at local levels wherever they are based.
